SUSTAINABILITY. ACCESSIBILITY. OPPORTUNITY.

Our Mission

upCYCLE is a Brixton based CIC founded to give young people from disadvantaged areas the opportunity to positively engage with meaningful nonacademic learning in a safe space and develop positive aspirations. We’re able to do this by providing refurbished bikes, 1-2-1 mentoring, bike repair classes and cycle skill sessions.

Our mission is to increase racial equality in cycling and wider society by creating pathways and empowering young people from ethnic minority groups through sport, while removing barriers and providing opportunities for them to make a meaningful change in their lives.

The time for collective action is long overdue. Please donate whatever you can or get in touch using the link below if you have an unused bike - together we can help make a difference.

Meet The jospehs

From a simple puncture repair to riding together as a family.

What started with one child learning to fix a puncture grew into a whole family cycling with confidence.

Despite setbacks like bike theft and storage challenges. ongoing support, skills and encouragement helped make cycling part of everyday life - for school runs, park rides and quality family time.

This is why cycling matters. it builds confidence, access and resilience for the whole family.

‘Having the bike has benefited me in terms of my fitness levels - instead of me walking or going to the gym, I’m doing exercise while engaging in an activity I enjoy’
